This piece is called The Labor of Love. Over 100 million stuffed animals are sold in the U.S. per year. It takes seconds for a teddy bear to be made in a manufacturing facility. When someone really important to me has met a milestone in life, I sew them a stuffed bear. I go to the store and search for the perfect fabric. Color, texture, and pattern are chosen with purpose. All-in-all, it takes me several hours to sew a stuffed animal. This project is made using raw materials of craft supplies to showcase the value in creation. I firmly believe that all good things in life require hard work. My friendships and relationships with people are the same. I think it’s silly to randomly buy a gift for someone who has seen you at your worst and best and loved you regardless. My labor of love, my craftsmanship. It’s a long process, but it's worth it so my loved ones know their importance to me.
